The Prosecution Project is investigating the history of the criminal trial, the core of the Australian justice system.

The team works to digitise materials from archives, Supreme Courts and other sources, enrich those records with details of the names of the accused, offences and outcomes of the trials, and return that enriched data to the source institution. The data is extended through use of other sources such as the newspapers digitised through Trove, allowing researchers to analyse patterns of crime, prosecution and punishment over long periods of time.
